Leaking toilets

Leaking toilets is another complication for people. The fact of the matter is the toilet can leak water from various points. In most cases when leaking toilets are discussed very little attention is spent on the exhaust possibly leaking. Angle valve and Flexi pipe

When the supply of water leaks it will be at this point. And that could be a result of a faulty or leaking angle valve. The angle valve is the small tap that is located under the toilet cistern. Using a piece of toilet paper will easily identify this point as the faulty part that needs replacement. The Flexi pipe is a small silver bendable pipe that is connected from the angle valve to the cistern. On both sides of this pipe is a rubber washer which is prone to failure. In many cases, we have also found the pipe itself to leak and fail.

The inlet valve

The inlet valve controls the flow of the water into the cistern. If this part fails, you will hear a constant flowing of water. In this case, water will fill up the cistern and then not be shut off so that the flow stops. Hence the water will flow through an overflow point in the cistern straight into the toilet pan. You can easily lose thousands of liters of water per month like this escalating your water bill. The saving in water will pay for the repair. What a benefit. It is best practice to simply replace the inlet valve with a new one to ensure a permanent fix.

The Beta valves

When the Beta valve is faulty, water will keep on running from the cistern into the toilet pan. The reasons are simple. The function of the Beta valve is to stop the water from running into the toilet pan until you flush the toilet. When this valve leaks water you can easily lose more than 200 liters of water daily. In this case, will replace the Beta Valve as simple as that.

Toilet Pan Exhaust

When toilet pan exhaust starts leaking you will have a constant wet floor around the back of the toilet. We will simply seal or replace the toilet pan connector in this case which will resolve the issue permanently. As easy as that.

Leaking pipes
