Terms Conditions

Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 14 September 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of Plumber-Plumbers.co.za and the provision of plumbing services, quotations, call-outs, repairs, installations, maintenance, products and related services arranged through the website or associated business.

By using this website, requesting a quotation, making a booking, accepting a quotation, purchasing a product or instructing us to perform work, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

These Terms and Conditions must be read together with our:

  • Privacy Policy;
  • Refund and Returns Policy;
  • Installation Policy; and
  • Any quotation, invoice, job card or written agreement issued for specific work.

Nothing contained in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude or limit any right that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

1. Definitions

For purposes of these Terms and Conditions:

“Customer” means any person, company, body corporate, landlord, tenant, agent, property manager or other party requesting or authorising services.

“We”, “us” or “our” means Plumber-Plumbers.co.za and the business, employees, plumbers, technicians, contractors or authorised service providers associated with the provision of the relevant services.

“Services” includes plumbing inspections, call-outs, diagnostics, repairs, installations, maintenance, emergency services, drain clearing, leak detection, geyser work, appliance connections and related plumbing work.

“Products” means plumbing parts, components, sanitaryware, geysers, valves, fittings, pipes, appliances and other goods supplied by us where applicable.

“Property” means the residential, commercial, industrial, sectional-title or other premises at which work is performed.

2. Website Use

The information published on Plumber-Plumbers.co.za is provided for general information and to enable customers to request plumbing services.

You may use the website only for lawful purposes.

You may not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or server;
  • Introduce malicious code;
  • Attempt to interfere with website operation;
  • Misuse website forms;
  • Submit false or fraudulent service requests;
  • Scrape or reproduce website content without permission where prohibited by law; or
  • Use the website in a manner that infringes the rights of another person.

3. Website Information

We endeavour to keep information on the website accurate and current.

However, plumbing conditions vary significantly from one property to another.

Information published on the website should not be treated as a substitute for:

  • A site inspection;
  • Professional diagnosis;
  • A formal quotation;
  • Product-specific instructions;
  • Manufacturer requirements; or
  • Applicable plumbing regulations.

Website information is therefore general in nature unless expressly stated otherwise.

4. Quotations

Unless otherwise stated, quotations are based on the information reasonably available at the time they are prepared.

This may include:

  • Customer descriptions;
  • Photographs;
  • Videos;
  • Measurements;
  • Site inspections;
  • Existing plans;
  • Product specifications; and
  • Visible site conditions.

A quotation may need to be amended if the actual conditions differ materially from the information initially provided.

5. Validity of Quotations

A quotation is valid for the period stated on the quotation.

If no validity period is stated, the quotation may be subject to:

  • Changes in supplier pricing;
  • Material availability;
  • Labour costs;
  • Fuel or transport costs;
  • Exchange-rate changes;
  • Product availability; or
  • Other material cost changes.

We may issue a revised quotation where reasonable.

6. Acceptance of Quotations

A quotation may be accepted through:

  • Signature;
  • Email;
  • WhatsApp;
  • SMS;
  • Electronic approval;
  • Written instruction;
  • Payment of an agreed deposit;
  • Allowing work to commence following agreement; or
  • Another reasonably verifiable form of acceptance.

Once accepted, the quotation forms part of the agreement between the customer and us.

7. Scope of Work

Only work specifically stated in the accepted quotation, invoice, job card or written agreement is included in the agreed price.

Work outside the stated scope may be charged separately.

This is particularly important where existing plumbing defects, concealed problems or additional repairs are discovered after work begins.

8. Additional Work

Where additional work is required, we will endeavour to inform the customer before proceeding.

Additional work may include:

  • Hidden leaks;
  • Corroded pipework;
  • Defective valves;
  • Non-compliant plumbing;
  • Additional pipe routing;
  • Damaged drainage;
  • Structural access;
  • Additional fittings;
  • Repairs to existing systems;
  • Electrical work;
  • Building work; or
  • Other work not reasonably foreseeable when the original quotation was prepared.

Where practicable, additional work will require customer authorisation.

9. Emergency Work

Where immediate work is reasonably necessary to prevent:

  • Flooding;
  • Serious water damage;
  • Unsafe conditions;
  • Property damage; or
  • Another significant risk,

we may perform reasonable emergency measures according to the circumstances.

Where possible, the customer will be informed before substantial additional work is undertaken.

10. Call-Out Fees

A call-out fee may apply where a plumber is dispatched to a property.

A call-out fee may cover:

  • Travel;
  • Attendance;
  • Initial inspection;
  • Fault assessment;
  • Diagnostic time; and
  • Administrative costs.

Where a call-out fee has been agreed, it may remain payable even if the customer decides not to proceed with the recommended repair.

11. Diagnostic Services

Some plumbing problems require investigation before the cause can be confirmed.

Diagnostic work may include:

  • Pressure testing;
  • Leak detection;
  • Opening access areas;
  • Drain inspection;
  • Testing fixtures;
  • Isolation testing;
  • Camera inspection; or
  • Other fault-finding procedures.

A diagnostic fee relates to the investigation performed and is not automatically refundable because the customer chooses not to proceed with repairs.

12. Appointments and Arrival Times

Appointment times are generally estimates unless specifically agreed otherwise.

Plumbing work is unpredictable and previous jobs may take longer than expected.

Delays may also result from:

  • Traffic;
  • Emergencies;
  • Supplier delays;
  • Weather;
  • Access problems;
  • Municipal outages; or
  • Circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Where we become aware of a material delay, we will endeavour to notify the customer.

13. Customer Access

The customer must provide reasonable access to the property and relevant work areas.

This includes access to:

  • Water supplies;
  • Stop valves;
  • Geysers;
  • Bathrooms;
  • Kitchens;
  • Roof spaces;
  • Drainage systems;
  • Service ducts;
  • Meter areas; and
  • Other plumbing infrastructure.

Failure to provide reasonable access may result in delays or additional costs.

14. Property Access and Security

The customer is responsible for ensuring that:

  • Security access has been arranged;
  • Estate or complex entry requirements have been satisfied;
  • Building management has granted necessary access;
  • Pets are safely controlled;
  • Work areas are reasonably accessible; and
  • Required keys, remotes or access codes are available.

Additional time caused by access difficulties may be chargeable.

15. Customer Authority

The person requesting the work confirms that they have authority to authorise the work or have obtained the necessary permission.

This may be relevant where the customer is:

  • A tenant;
  • Property manager;
  • Body corporate representative;
  • Agent;
  • Employee;
  • Occupier; or
  • Contractor acting for the property owner.

We are not responsible for disputes between owners, tenants, landlords, body corporates, managing agents or other parties concerning who was entitled to authorise the work.

16. Sectional Title and Shared Plumbing

Plumbing systems in sectional-title properties may involve both private and common property.

Responsibility for repairs may depend on:

  • The location of the pipe;
  • The section boundary;
  • Body corporate rules;
  • The sectional title scheme;
  • Applicable legislation; or
  • The nature of the defect.

The customer remains responsible for obtaining any required body corporate or managing-agent approval before work begins.

17. Existing Plumbing

We are responsible only for work actually performed by us.

We are not responsible for unrelated existing defects or future failures elsewhere in the plumbing system unless caused by our work.

Existing plumbing may include:

  • Corroded pipes;
  • Old fittings;
  • Defective valves;
  • Damaged drains;
  • Excessive pressure;
  • Non-compliant alterations;
  • Previous poor workmanship;
  • Hidden leaks; or
  • Deteriorated components.

18. Concealed Defects

Plumbing is often concealed inside walls, floors, ceilings, cupboards, roofs or underground.

We cannot guarantee that concealed defects will be identified before work begins.

If concealed defects are discovered, additional work may be required.

19. Access Damage

Certain plumbing repairs require access to concealed infrastructure.

This may require cutting or opening:

  • Walls;
  • Floors;
  • Ceilings;
  • Tiles;
  • Cabinets;
  • Roofing; or
  • Other building finishes.

We will endeavour to minimise unnecessary damage.

Unless expressly included in the quotation, reinstatement of decorative or building finishes is excluded.

20. Building and Finishing Work

Unless expressly included, plumbing quotations do not include:

  • Tiling;
  • Painting;
  • Plastering;
  • Waterproofing;
  • Carpentry;
  • Cabinetry;
  • Flooring;
  • Ceiling repairs;
  • Structural work; or
  • Other specialist trades.

Where these services are required, they may be quoted separately.

21. Electrical Work

Plumbing work may sometimes require electrical work, particularly in relation to:

  • Geysers;
  • Heat pumps;
  • Pumps;
  • Control equipment; or
  • Heating systems.

Electrical work is excluded unless specifically included in the quotation.

Where necessary, electrical work may need to be performed by a suitably qualified electrical contractor.

22. Materials

Materials included in a quotation are limited to those specified or reasonably necessary for the agreed scope.

Additional materials may be charged separately where unforeseen conditions require:

  • Extra piping;
  • Special fittings;
  • Replacement valves;
  • Additional supports;
  • Specialised connectors; or
  • Other unforeseen components.

23. Product Availability

Product availability may change without notice.

Where a specific product becomes unavailable, we may offer a suitable alternative.

No substitution will be made where the difference is material without reasonable customer approval.

24. Customer-Supplied Products

Where a customer supplies their own product, we accept responsibility only for our installation workmanship.

We do not warrant:

  • Product quality;
  • Manufacturer defects;
  • Product compatibility;
  • Incorrect sizing;
  • Missing components;
  • Product warranties; or
  • Product suitability.

Additional charges may apply if customer-supplied products cause delays or require additional work.

25. Compliance

Where applicable, plumbing work will be performed in accordance with relevant requirements applying to the work undertaken.

This may include:

  • Applicable South African National Standards;
  • Manufacturer requirements;
  • Municipal regulations;
  • Plumbing regulations; and
  • Industry requirements.

If existing plumbing must be modified before the new work can be completed compliantly, additional costs may apply.

26. Certificates of Compliance

A plumbing Certificate of Compliance is not automatically included with every plumbing service.

Where a certificate is required by law, regulation, manufacturer requirement or agreement, this should be identified in the quotation.

Additional remedial work required before a certificate can be issued may be charged separately.

27. Payment Terms

Payment terms will be stated on the quotation, invoice or other agreement.

Depending on the job, payment may require:

  • Full payment before work;
  • A deposit;
  • Progress payments;
  • Payment on completion; or
  • Another agreed arrangement.

The customer agrees to make payment according to the agreed terms.

28. Deposits

A deposit may be required for:

  • Large jobs;
  • Special-order products;
  • Bathroom renovations;
  • Geyser installations;
  • Solar geysers;
  • Materials;
  • Equipment hire; or
  • Substantial installations.

Deposits may be used to purchase materials or reserve labour.

Refundability of deposits is subject to our Refund and Returns Policy and applicable South African law.

29. Late Payment

Where payment is overdue, we may:

  • Suspend further work;
  • Delay delivery of products;
  • Withhold further non-essential services;
  • Refer the debt for collection; or
  • Exercise any other lawful remedy.

Any recovery costs or interest will only be claimed where legally permitted and contractually applicable.

30. Ownership of Products

Where permitted by law and agreed in the transaction, ownership of products supplied may remain with us until full payment has been received.

Risk in installed goods may pass according to the circumstances and applicable law.

31. Cancellation

Customers should notify us as early as possible if they wish to cancel a booking.

Cancellation costs may apply where:

  • A plumber has already been dispatched;
  • Work has commenced;
  • Materials have been ordered;
  • Special-order products have been purchased;
  • Supplier cancellation charges apply; or
  • Other reasonable costs have already been incurred.

Cancellation will be handled in accordance with our Refund and Returns Policy and applicable law.

32. Rescheduling

We will endeavour to accommodate reasonable requests to reschedule work.

Repeated or late rescheduling may result in additional costs where labour, travel or materials have already been committed.

33. Workmanship Concerns

If a customer believes there is a defect in our workmanship, we should be contacted as soon as reasonably possible.

We should ordinarily be given a reasonable opportunity to:

  • Inspect the reported issue;
  • Establish its cause;
  • Determine whether it relates to our work; and
  • Remedy qualifying defects.

This does not limit statutory consumer rights.

34. Third-Party Repairs

Where possible, customers should not allow another contractor to alter or dismantle our work before we have had an opportunity to inspect an alleged defect.

Third-party intervention may make it difficult to determine the cause of the problem.

This does not prevent urgent measures necessary to prevent injury or substantial property damage.

35. Manufacturer Warranties

Certain products may carry a manufacturer warranty.

Manufacturer warranty claims remain subject to the manufacturer’s terms.

A manufacturer warranty is separate from any rights relating to our workmanship.

36. Drain Cleaning and Blockages

Clearing a blocked drain does not guarantee that a blockage will never recur.

Recurring problems may be caused by:

  • Tree roots;
  • Collapsed pipes;
  • Damaged drains;
  • Poor pipe gradients;
  • Foreign objects;
  • Grease;
  • Structural defects;
  • Municipal sewer problems; or
  • Existing drainage defects.

Further investigation or repair may constitute additional work.

37. Leak Detection

Leak detection is a diagnostic service.

While reasonable methods are used to locate suspected leaks, no method can guarantee identification of every concealed leak in every circumstance.

Additional investigation may be required where:

  • Multiple leaks exist;
  • Pipes are deeply concealed;
  • Acoustic conditions are poor;
  • Water pressure fluctuates;
  • Access is restricted; or
  • Existing systems are complex.

38. Water Pressure

Excessive or fluctuating water pressure can damage plumbing components.

Where pressure problems exist elsewhere in the system, failure of unrelated components is not automatically attributable to work we have performed.

We may recommend pressure-control repairs where appropriate.

39. Municipal Services

We are not responsible for failures or interruptions caused by municipal infrastructure.

This may include:

  • Water outages;
  • Low pressure;
  • High pressure;
  • Sewer back-ups;
  • Burst municipal mains;
  • Meter problems; or
  • Municipal supply contamination.

40. Property Damage

We will take reasonable care when working at a customer’s property.

However, we are not responsible for pre-existing damage, hidden deterioration or damage caused by defects not resulting from our work.

Customers should remove valuable or fragile objects from the immediate work area.

41. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, consequential or purely economic loss arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in this clause excludes liability where exclusion is prohibited by law.

42. Loss of Water, Electricity or Services

Temporary interruption of water, hot water or electricity may be necessary during plumbing work.

Customers should make appropriate arrangements where continuous supply is essential.

We will endeavour to restore relevant services as soon as reasonably possible.

43. Delays Beyond Our Control

We will not be liable for unreasonable delay caused by events outside our reasonable control, including:

  • Severe weather;
  • Municipal outages;
  • Power failures;
  • Supplier shortages;
  • Industrial action;
  • Road closures;
  • Civil disruption;
  • Product shortages;
  • Natural disasters; or
  • Government restrictions.

44. Photographs and Job Records

We may take reasonable photographs of plumbing work for:

  • Technical records;
  • Quality control;
  • Quotations;
  • Supplier claims;
  • Warranty claims;
  • Insurance;
  • Dispute resolution; or
  • Internal records.

Any public use of identifiable property images will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

45. Personal Information

Personal information will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable South African data-protection law.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that information supplied to us is accurate.

46. Communication

Customers agree that reasonable service-related communication may take place by:

  • Telephone;
  • Email;
  • SMS;
  • WhatsApp; or
  • Other contact details supplied by the customer.

Operational communications relating to a booking or existing job are not considered optional marketing communications.

47. Direct Marketing

Marketing communications will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

Customers may request to opt out of marketing communications.

Opting out of marketing does not prevent us from contacting customers regarding:

  • Existing jobs;
  • Appointments;
  • Quotations;
  • Payments;
  • Warranties;
  • Complaints; or
  • Other necessary service communications.

48. Complaints

Customers are encouraged to raise complaints directly with us so that we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve them.

A complaint should include, where available:

  • Customer name;
  • Job number;
  • Service address;
  • Date of work;
  • Description of the complaint; and
  • Supporting photographs or information.

49. Refunds

Refunds, cancellations and returns are governed by our Refund and Returns Policy.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions removes any statutory right a customer may have to an appropriate remedy.

50. Installation Terms

All installation work is also subject to our Installation Policy.

Where an installation quotation contains specific terms that differ from general website information, the specific written quotation will normally apply to that job, subject to applicable law.

51. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, website content including:

  • Text;
  • Graphics;
  • Logos;
  • Photographs;
  • Layout;
  • Website code;
  • Branding; and
  • Original written material

is owned by or licensed to Plumber-Plumbers.co.za.

Unauthorised reproduction or commercial use may be prohibited.

52. External Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites.

We are not responsible for:

  • External website content;
  • Availability;
  • Security;
  • Privacy practices; or
  • Information published by third parties.

Use of third-party websites is at the user’s own discretion.

53. Website Availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the website.

The website may occasionally be unavailable due to:

  • Maintenance;
  • Hosting problems;
  • Security issues;
  • Software updates;
  • Network failures; or
  • Circumstances outside our control.

Website unavailability does not affect existing contractual obligations for work already agreed.

54. Pricing Errors

We endeavour to publish accurate prices where prices appear online.

If an obvious pricing or typographical error occurs, we reserve the right to correct it before accepting the transaction, subject to applicable law.

Customers will be informed of material corrections.

55. Promotions and Discounts

Promotional pricing may be subject to:

  • Specific dates;
  • Availability;
  • Service areas;
  • Product availability;
  • Minimum spend;
  • Installation conditions; or
  • Other published conditions.

Promotions may not necessarily be combined unless expressly stated.

56. Service Areas

Availability of plumbing services may depend on location.

Additional travel or transport charges may apply outside normal service areas where agreed.

57. Subcontractors

We may use appropriately selected subcontractors or service providers to perform certain work.

Where subcontractors are used, they may receive customer information reasonably necessary to perform the work.

58. Customer Conduct

We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue work where:

  • Staff or contractors are threatened;
  • Abusive behaviour occurs;
  • The property is unsafe;
  • Illegal conduct is requested;
  • Payment arrangements are repeatedly breached;
  • Access conditions are dangerous; or
  • Continued work would expose persons or property to unreasonable risk.

Any amounts due for work already completed remain payable.

59. Health and Safety

Customers must disclose any known site hazards that may reasonably affect our workers.

Examples include:

  • Dangerous animals;
  • Asbestos;
  • Unsafe electrical systems;
  • Structural instability;
  • Contaminated areas;
  • Hazardous chemicals; or
  • Restricted-access spaces.

We may suspend work if conditions are unsafe.

60. Entire Agreement

The agreement for a particular job may consist of:

  • These Terms and Conditions;
  • The accepted quotation;
  • Our Installation Policy;
  • Our Refund and Returns Policy;
  • Written variations;
  • Relevant invoices; and
  • Other agreed written instructions.

Where specific written terms for a job differ from general website wording, the specific terms may take precedence to the extent permitted by law.

61. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as severed to the extent necessary.

The remaining provisions will continue to apply.

62. No Waiver

Failure by either party to enforce a right immediately does not necessarily constitute a waiver of that right.

63. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions periodically.

The version published on the website at the time of a transaction will generally apply to that transaction, subject to any later agreement and applicable law.

64. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

Any dispute will be dealt with according to applicable South African law and the rights available to the parties.

65. Consumer Protection

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to:

  • Exclude statutory consumer rights;
  • Avoid mandatory legal obligations;
  • Remove remedies provided by law; or
  • Impose terms prohibited by applicable consumer legislation.

Where these Terms conflict with a mandatory provision of South African law, the applicable law will prevail.
