Verification should match the reported symptom under normal use before we leave — through flow tests, flush cycles, heating checks, or seepage monitoring, depending on the job.
Some faults cannot be confirmed during a short visit if they are intermittent, concealed or only present under conditions that are not happening at the time. In that case we record what was checked, what remains possible and what further test or access would be needed before quoting invasive work.
Photographs of inaccessible areas — roof spaces, voids behind cupboards, or closed ceiling panels — help Inanda owners who were not home during the visit understand why a recommendation was made.
Some plumbing faults only appear under load — when several showers run, when the washing machine drains, or when the geyser reheats once a long idle period. On site we reproduce those conditions where safe so intermittent complaints are not closed prematurely.
Diagnosis before quotation
Skipping inspection can lead to the wrong part being replaced or the underlying fault remaining unresolved. Our plumbers examine the affected system, reproduce symptoms where safe, and distinguish the strongest evidence from secondary symptoms. Especially where ageing pipework or fittings mean more than one fault may be present.
Each test our plumbers perform is chosen to match the symptom — a flush cycle alone cannot prove a heating fault, and vice versa.
Repairs verified under normal use
Handover includes running water at pressure, cycling geysers, flushing toilets repeatedly, or monitoring drains — whatever verifies the reported symptom under the conditions tested. Our plumbers do not consider a job closed because a symptom paused briefly. This is the difference between closing the symptom and verifying the repaired point.
Documentation and handover notes
Where helpful, on site we note parts replaced, tests performed, and maintenance suggestions for Inanda clients managing portfolios or single homes. Photos of inaccessible areas may be shared when they clarify recommendations. These notes can make the completed scope and any future recommendations easier to understand.
If a fault cannot be reproduced immediately we document what was checked and recommend the next diagnostic step rather than closing the ticket early.
What we confirm before handover
Before handover, we check whether the reported symptom is absent under the conditions tested.
If water is spreading or several drains are failing together, stop using the affected fixtures where safe. Call 067 657 6109 or WhatsApp photos if safe to do so. Approved repairs are tested as appropriate before handover.
